One of the earliest plats in Morenci (1858), this neighborhood has 43 lots of mixed residential and commercial. It is a very walkable area with most municipal and business services close-by. This is rural, small city living at its best. Franklin Cawley's Addition includes the north side of Main Street from N. East St. to Borchardt Brothers Market on the west. Most commercial and government uses are between Main and Locust, with the lots north of Locust residential or churches. Residential lots are characterized by nicely-maintained houses of varying architectural styles, ages (late 1800s-1970s) and lot sizes, with a broad range of prices. Morenci offers some of Lenawee County's best home values. Morenci is an easy commute to Adrian and Toledo / Northwest Ohio.
Downtown Morenci (both sides of Main St.) includes a grocery, pharmacy, bank, hardware, USPS, restaurants, public library, local newspaper, auto repair, car wash, gas station, fire and police stations. Morenci Public Schools are an easy walk east and northeast.
