Stony Lake has 70 water acres and nice, well-spaced residential developments around it. It is not overcrowded. Located in Cambridge Twp. north of US-12 , it is just west of Wampler’s Lake and Timber Lake. Pink Rd. runs north and south along the east side of the lake (and becomes Person Hwy. south of Stony Lake). Bloomfield Blvd. is on the west side. Cottages and homes are Knapp Rd. on the north and west sides, Bloomfield Blvd. in the southwest corner and Emerald Dr. across the rest of the south side. There are waterfront properties along Pink Rd.

Onsted Community Schools is the resident school district. While Michigan is a "School of Choice" state, participation in choice programs is optional for districts.
