Wampler's Lake is a large, all-sports lake (796 acres) connected by a channel to Round Lake (100 acres), a small, no wake lake. (Lenawee county has 2 Round Lakes, the larger one (515 acres) being next to Devils Lake in Woodstock Township.) Wampler’s Lake is one of the largest lakes in the popular Irish Hills area. The sandy lake bottom, with a depth of up to 35 feet, has a gradual drop-off, perfect for swimmers. Walter J. Hayes State Park is on the southeast side of Wampler’s Lake. Subdivisions are on Tecumseh Dr., Wampler’s Heights Dr., Wampler’s Lake Rd., Shoreline Dr. Ridgeway Dr., Oak Dr., Wyoming St. and Egan Hwy., with a substantial subdivision south of Egan Hwy. on Cedar Dr. near Jerry’s Pub & Restaurant and streets west of Cedar Dr.

Mud Lake (31 acres) is developed on the east and northeast side off Beach Rd. and a private drive.

Iron Lake (78 acres) has residential properties along its west shore (off Egan Hwy.) and on its east shore via E. Shore Dr. and Indian Trail.

Round Lake (100 acres) no waterfront development on Round Lake.

Please Note: The northern half (approximately) of both Wampler’s Lake and Round Lake - and all of Mud Lake - are in Jackson County. The southern halves of Wampler’s and Round, plus all of Timber Lake and Iron Lake are in Cambridge Twp., Lenawee County.

Onsted Community Schools is the resident school district for most of this part of Lenawee; however, some Lenawee properties in the Wampler’s Lake Area are in the Columbia School District (Jackson County). It is important to check specific addresses to confirm the resident district. While Michigan is a "School of Choice" state, participation in choice programs is optional for districts.
